Our Story

We are a husband and wife team who opened our business first back in 2008 originating in County Meath where then resided. We traded in a couple of locations before relocating to County Galway full time.

We are based in Portumna for the past 7 years - although our connection with the area goes back over half a century. While both of us come from different backgrounds, our love of interior design, restoration, and a life changing event have led us here. With very little disposable income to hand, we began up-cycling furniture we already had, including old furniture we found at auctions along the way. And so it began…

As with many independent businesses, it started with our own home. Our hobby turned into a business, our motto being ‘Get the Look for Less’.

Now, with another life-changing event (Covid-19) we are reinventing ourselves yet again. Now epitomising the term ‘Family Business’ our daughters have even joined force! Together, we hope to take our business to the next level, despite these strange times.

So, what is it we actually do?

We stock a large range of items and styles, from brand new to 200 years old, one-off pieces and hand-crafted furnishings, we pride ourselves on catering for all price ranges and a diverse age brackets.

As an Annie Sloan Chalk Paint stockist, we offer 42 colours in the paint range and 4 variations of wax. This is an ideal tool for up-cycling due to the low VOCs. We are happy to give you any advice and tips necessary to help you complete your project!

We firmly believe in up-cycling (can you tell?) along with reusable materials and sustainable shopping.
